At Chelsea’s Dance Pac, we believe that dance is more than just movement—it’s a way to inspire, motivate, and challenge every individual who walks through our doors. Dance Studio Policies
Our Policies
At Chelsea’s Dance Pac (CDP), we are committed to providing a safe, respectful, inclusive, and positive environment where dancers can grow in confidence, discipline, teamwork, and artistry. These policies exist to protect our dancers, families, instructors, and the studio community as a whole.
Enrollment at Chelsea’s Dance Pac indicates agreement to follow all policies outlined below.
1. Studio Code of Conduct
All dancers are expected to:
Treat instructors, staff, fellow dancers, and families with respect and kindness
Follow directions from instructors and staff at all times
Demonstrate appropriate behaviour in the studio, change rooms, washrooms, lobby, sidewalk, and parking lot
Represent Chelsea’s Dance Pac positively both inside and outside the studio
Disruptive, unsafe, or disrespectful behaviour will not be tolerated.
2. Respect & Anti-Bullying Policy
Chelsea’s Dance Pac maintains a zero-tolerance policy for bullying, harassment, or intimidation.
Bullying includes, but is not limited to:
Name-calling, teasing, mocking, or verbal insults
Exclusion or intentional isolation
Spreading rumours or gossip
Threatening behaviour or intimidation
Online or social media harassment connected to the studio
Bullying that occurs in the studio, outside the studio, online, or in any space connected to Chelsea’s Dance Pac will be taken seriously and addressed immediately.
Consequences may include:
Verbal or written warning
Parent/guardian meeting
Suspension from classes
Dismissal from the studio (no refunds)
3. Gossip & Negative Conversation Policy
To protect a positive and emotionally safe environment, gossip is not permitted.
This includes:
Speaking negatively about dancers, families, instructors, or staff
Discussing private studio matters publicly
Gossiping or speculating inside the studio, in change rooms, the lobby, on the sidewalk, or in the parking lot
Concerns must be brought directly and privately to studio management. Behaviour that disrupts the studio environment will be addressed promptly.
4. Personal Belongings & Food Policy
Respect for personal property is mandatory at Chelsea’s Dance Pac.
Dancers may not touch, open, move, or remove another person’s dance bag, phone, clothing, or belongings without permission
Dancers may not take or eat food or drinks that do not belong to them
All dancers must bring their own clearly labeled lunch, snacks, and water
Any dancer found violating this policy may face disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal from the studio.
To support this policy:
Dancers may be required to bring lunches into the dance room during breaks
Change rooms will be monitored more frequently
5. Change Room & Studio Behaviour
Change rooms are shared spaces and must be treated respectfully.
Expectations include:
Appropriate language at all times
Respect for privacy and personal space
No roughhousing, yelling, or unsafe behaviour
No phones, photos, or recordings without permission
Failure to follow these expectations may result in loss of change-room privileges or further disciplinary action.
6. Physical Contact & Personal Boundaries
Chelsea’s Dance Pac is committed to maintaining a safe and professional environment.
Dancers must keep hands to themselves
No hitting, pushing, grabbing, or unwanted physical contact
Instructional physical contact by staff will always be age-appropriate, professional, and necessary
Any inappropriate physical behaviour will be addressed immediately.
7. Attendance & Punctuality
Dancers are expected to arrive on time and prepared
Late arrivals may be asked to observe rather than participate
Repeated absences or lateness may affect choreography placement, performance opportunities, or team participation
8. Weather & Studio Closures
Weather-related closures will be communicated via email and/or official studio social media
Please do not assume the studio is closed unless an announcement has been made
No refunds will be issued for weather-related closures; make-up classes may be offered at the studio’s discretion
Families should always use their best judgment when traveling in unsafe conditions.
9. Tuition & Payment Policy
Tuition at Chelsea’s Dance Pac is due on the 1st of every month for all dancers, including competitive and recreational programs.
Payments not received by the 15th of the month will be considered late
A $25 late fee will be applied every 15 days that the balance remains outstanding
Late fees will continue to accrue until the account is paid in full
Important: After two missed payments, the dancer will be dismissed from the studio until the account is brought fully up to date. Continued non-payment may result in permanent dismissal from Chelsea’s Dance Pac.
This policy applies equally to competitive and recreational dancers, with no exceptions.
10. Parent & Guardian Expectations
Parents and guardians are expected to:
Communicate respectfully with instructors and staff
Address concerns privately and directly with studio management
Refrain from coaching, correcting, or disciplining dancers who are not their own
Model respectful, supportive behaviour at all times
Please note: Gossip, negative conversations, or speculation are not permitted in the lobby, on the sidewalk, in the parking lot, or in any public area connected to Chelsea’s Dance Pac. These behaviours create an uncomfortable and unsafe environment and will be addressed by studio management.
Negative or disruptive parent behaviour may result in disciplinary action affecting a dancer’s enrollment.
11. Social Media Policy
No negative posts or comments about the studio, staff, dancers, or families
No posting photos or videos of other dancers without permission
Online behaviour connected to Chelsea’s Dance Pac is subject to studio policies
Harmful online behaviour will be treated as a studio conduct issue.
12. Disciplinary Action
Chelsea’s Dance Pac reserves the right to take appropriate action when policies are violated.
Actions may include:
Verbal or written warning
Parent/guardian meeting
Temporary suspension
Permanent dismissal from the studio (no refunds)
All decisions made by studio management are final.
